I'd ride a horse to work if I could, why not? Even the police still use them in many places. Do you still use a spoon?

At our old job laptops didn't have HDMI connectors nor did the desktops. They still had DVI and VGA (and some of these were new!). To get dual monitors going we had to use DVI and VGA. Only a small few computers got dual DVI.

Truth is it's a work computer so it didn't really matter.

You may laugh about riding a horse... but being from Texas I've seriously been asked that question. They also think we're wild west and carry our guns like in the movies in small towns.

DisplayPort is an alternative to HDMI without DRM that's actually slowly taking over in PC display circles, as one cable can handle all the bandwidth for all the devices connected to a display, rather than just video and audio like HDMI - look at any high-end graphics card these days and they're starting to phase out HDMI and DVI connectors in favor of DisplayPort.

The only problem with this is finding a monitor with a DisplayPort input for less than $400.

You can probably find DisplayPort male to HDMI male converters.

Probably has older monitors. My 2 are from 2006 and 2008, so I am in the same boat. I am looking at a 144 hz 1ms upgrade. was going to go 1440p very soon until I looked into pricing. I know monitors are a long range investment, but I need to have that cash up front. Started saving anyways as my current monitors do work.

HDMI has DRM built in and the company that owns it charges tons of money for the specification
