Use a fulfilled by Amazon seller. Since it's not Amazon themselves selling it, they usually don't charge tax but still qualify for free and Prime shipping options since it's Amazon sending it out.

Otherwise, eBay is your best bet for general purpose shopping (and I would recommend checking eBay anyway, some things tend to be quite a bit cheaper). There really isn't any other "everything" sites that I can think of.

Amazon cut a deal with my state. They built a data center here and got huge tax abatement. Now that they have a physical presence in the state they are required to collect sales tax.

I don't think it actually has to do with having a physical presence does it? But even if it does, these days Amazon pretty much has a physical presence in every state for shipping and distribution reasons. I know that they charge tax in my state, but they don't have any data centers here that I know about.

eBay does seem like the most viable option so far.

You could try overstock.com. They do charge sales tax in some places, but might not where you live.

Edit: They charge sales tax in Utah, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

Sales taxes need to go. I'm surprised countries like Canada put up with them on a national scale. Maybe people think it adds value to their purchase?

It's surprising how vigorously some defend taxation. Statism is real.

I'm for taxation. I'm just not for restraint of trade through taxation. Income, land, corporate, tariffs, royalties, government making money by providing services, even licensing have their places. Once something is on the shelf it really doesn't need to be taxed. Is like the sky going to fall for these nuts if someone buys new clothes and doesn't give the government a cut? Maybe they should move to Canada if they enjoy getting raped at the till.

If you're into bitcoin, you could use Purse.io and still get your stuff from Amazon. Not only can you potentially avoid sales tax, but you can also request a 10% discount or more on your order.

I haven't used the service yet, myself, but that's how it's advertised.

FYI if you live in a state that charges sales tax, you legally owe it on EVERYTHING you buy that's used in the state. Buying from out of state vendors for the purpose of paying less is a form of tax evasion. Just so you know.
