That can also be seen as to mean false gods, or even people themselves that claim they are gods. Or it could refer to the sun as a god. This is way too open to interpretation for someone to reach a definite conclusion on.

Referring to the examples I used. People who claim they are god and the sun do exist. Although why are you saying god had to be jealous to tell people not to put those above him?

At the time this was written, almost every natural phenomenon that couldn't be explained was thought to be the work of "a god". It would make sense that the Bible would make the distinction between "YOUR God" and "any other god", which actually separates this God from the possibility of any other gods.

Agree but also this idea that everything is a work of God since he created the Universe or what ever he created.

Just noticed this:

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above"

That clearly states that I can't bow down to images of Jesus.
