Offering criticism is much different than attacking someone personally. The truth is that there is plenty to criticize about how kevdude and PV go about their business, especially when it comes to how they deal with criticism. Labeling a post that demonstrates genuine concern as a concern troll is plain wrong, for instance.
Given the nature of what PV does, they need to be held to a high standard by the community. Constructive criticism and honest debate about goals and methods is necessary to prevent voat from needing protection from PV.

Imo all three of the users involved fucked up here.
And off-course kevdude is going to get the most heat for at the very least cooperating. He has been posing and acting like the high and mighty sheriff of voat for the past few months. And then he cooperates in a doxx....
I had a discussion with him about this during the Techius drama. Under a heavy downvoating hail, I said PV was starting to use more and more SRS tactics and "with or against us" rhetoric only to pursue their cause. I told him I found PV one of the biggest threats to voat at the moment. and here we are.... just a few days later......
PV has become just as bad as SRS and the moderators are fuelling it!

All three fucked up, but I think that @kevdude's actions are the most significant, since he purports to hold himself to a higher standard while wielding such immense power in Voat. The fact that he's tried to brush the whole thing off as insignificant makes the issue a bit worse. Both @nadrewod and @TychoVoats took responsibility for the thing, and I think that speaks for their character just as much as @kevdude's stubbornness and refusal to take responsibility speaks for his.

your entire premise relies on the issue of what is and is not doxxing.
for those of us that think it was not doxxing the conduct so far has been above board.
of course, for people who think it was a doxx the actions could easily be seen as poor.
as far as I can tell much of the drama is about the people and very little about the facts.

I actually adjusted small parts of the text, imo it contributes to the discussion @littlehousewife is trying to have here.
With about a dozen threads discussing all over the place I see no harm or propaganda in reusing this text.
So you can stick that fancy archived link right up there where the sun don't shine and start contributing to the discussion!

Regardless who started it, it's pretty shitty to post a link that contains a name and information about someone and link it to a Voat account / offsite address. Remember when everyone was up in arms over pictures of @she being leaked? These posts about MH101 provided more personal information than those did (sure, no nudes), but some people are saying "MH101 had this info on the internet already, what's the big deal if I repost it?"
It's a pretty fucked up thing to do.

kevdude, nadrewod and 0x00 all posted info on a user. All three of them violated the Voat user agreement. I don't see why we're trying to find one of them to blame here.

Without advance notice and at any time, we may, for violations of this agreement or for any other reason we choose: (1) suspend your access to voat, (2) suspend or terminate Your Account, and/or (3) remove any of your User Content from voat.
Keep Personal Information Off voat: You agree to not post anyone's sensitive personal information that relates to that person's real world or online identity.
tl;dr: they should all be banned

You'd think someone who makes it their business to protect voat would read the user agreement.

To @kevdude's credit, he never seems to take it personally. He even comes by SDBH every so often to shit a little.

Just what voat needed. Another post about this drama.
