After the Russian Revolution, the USA and other allies sent troops to occupy parts of Russia and help the Czarist forces, and they didn't leave until 1920.

I knew that one. I read a book which was based on one of the soldier's diaries and he discussed some of the battles they fought in and how the communist forces would shear the copper off the tips of the FMJ bullets to cause more tissue damage.
