Okay, maybe I do not understand Social Security. I'm not American, but I wanted to use an example Americans would be familiar with. Thanks for correcting me.
What about Medicaid? Isn't that an example of a program paid for by everyone and benefiting only those who need it?

I agree with this guy, there's a difference between retired people on social security and people who have lived off of programs like welfare their entire life. Even unemployment could be argued as equal opportunity because it runs out and is based off of what you have paid into it, it's more of a national insurance policy for sudden career losses.
