Fell for what exactly?
The paranoid, vague, "Oligarchs are creating terrorism so that they can control us easier" narrative which goes hand-in-glove with the ME narrative that Islam is not the problem; the problem is colonial powers jockeying for control of oil wealth/flows.
If I am mistaken, then pardon me. I just see this bullshit white-washing of Muslim responsibility so damn often that I may see it where it is not present. Which is it in this case?

I don't think my views of what's happening in the world could be simplified to a few paragraphs. People are responsible for their own personal faculties. Religions all over are open to interpretation and there are those who are guided through the lessons of love just as there are those that are guided through fear. Ultimately the collective will side with the message that sounds most true in the moment. Oligarchs are creating terrorism but that doesn't excuse the Muslims committing it. But those behind the Paris attacks, for example, were paid mercenaries from my point of view. Islamic terrorism is the narrative being pushed. No different to any major conflict in history. The rulers push an idealistic narrative but if you just follow the money you'll see those at the top simply get richer while we continue to scrap about bullshit

Yes, that is the path to error. You've been on that path for too long. It will not explain what we see today. Islam did not have a Enlightenment and so it is not this "free and easy" ala carte religion that reflects each persons personal moral understanding as Christianity has come to be. I know you don't get this, cannot bring yourself to reconsider your position here. I have to trust, though, that the weight of evidence pointing to Islam being rigid/not-personal will wear down your own denial. If you just keep paying attention, I think you will come to this conclusion. Reading the Koran (NJ Dawood Translation) would speed up this process for you. At some point you will see the cult nature of Islam where it is deadly sin (with violent ramifications) to accept gays and apostates and admitting doubt in one's Muslim community.
"Oligarchs are creating terrorism" "those behind the Paris attacks, for example, were paid mercenaries"
Suicide attacks simply don't match the mercenary narrative. This is not complicated.
