Another missed landing for SpaceX, on a barge 200 miles out in the sea, rather than at Cape Canaveral a month ago (which was a tremendous success) -- I think that's the third try on a harge, after a successful launch and deployment. Apparently it's a lot harder than it appears, and gives Jeff Bezos of Amazon an opening.

Jeff Bezos rocket doesnt even go to orbit, how does this help him in any way? He is making a rocket for a completely different use.

I don't know -- maybe several rockets had multiple uses; have you ever thought of that? Blue Origins has a business plan, believe it or not, and they're executing on that plan with fervor -- including rockets that orbit the earth. I think personally you're just shooting off your mouth, a quarter cocked. Hmmmm?

I'm curious, why don't they just simply crash land it on the ocean and make it so it floats via floatation devices post impact? Get a ship to location to collect it out of the water afterwards.

Salt water is terrible on everything. They are looking to turn around quickly. Like planes, if they are not flying, they are not making money.

That is what NASA did for years, it's expensive to repair and time consuming. Spacex's eventual plan is to land, refuel, and lift off.

I didn't realize repairs were needed afterwards. Interesting. Thanks!
