Older swing voter here. I voted for Reagan in 84, a third party candidate in 88, and then for everyone who wound up winning the general election. I'm a swing voter who had a simple equation. I liked the Dems for social issues, the Republicans for fiscal issues. Today I hate both parties fully, since they abandoned the one things that made them tolerable.
In my five decades, I have never seen a more depressing slate of candidates.

You don't hear about conservatives returning to pay as you go(PAYGO), either. An excellent policy enacted during the George H.W. Bush era, which Bill Clinton had the good sense to keep during his administration. A simple, commonsense, concept forced lawmakers check new increases in spending by finding areas in the budget to cut to offset the cost. It forced us to root out wasteful spending on both liberal and conservative facets of the government, and engage in responsible decision making.

It's hard to tell because he loves grand vague statements. But it mention that he wants make the military stronger, which i guess means more money, though else where he talk about reducing the defense budget. He also has a tax cut plan that will cut taxes a shit ton, especially for the wealthy. he says that this will be paid by having a 6 % GDP growth rate (which is not going to happen) and closing loopholes(which will not be enough replacement revenue). So in short: lots of promises that would ramp up our debt, but he will not follow through on most so hard to tell. But Republicans have massive control of the Congress so i'm guessing defense spending will not be cut.

Cutting funding to the NSA would be a start. Something that Trump wouldn't do. Bernie or Rand are the only ones that might.

Both parties are messed up. It's not even who's the lesser of two evils. They argue, they pretend there's conflict when they agree on the same things for almost everything. Party systems are broken, man. Should've listened to our founding fathers.

Except Rand Paul is more rational than almost every other republican and a lot of democrats too.

There almost worse then the dems in spending instead of dem programs and free shit for everyone. They want to have the biggest military and invade every country that looks at us wrong and give corporate tax breaks to the rich. No party wants a balanced budget. They both will spend us into oblivion.

Nah, they don't want war against everyone, that could backfire.
They just want endless risk-less wars that they can use as an excuse for an ever increasing military budget.

But only if that budget includes building unwanted military kit within their district. Not buying things the army actually wants, like body armor.

Don't you just love how the party of religious people is the same party that wants to wage war against every nation on the planet?

That's because Republicans aren't Republicans anymore. They're just the "other" Democrats. Well, excepting a few.
