Although I'm sure that a great many Conservatives read that article and nodded their heads sagely, it's simple propaganda - lets look.
The article begins
Justin Trudeau’s ill-conceived plan to push through electoral reform before the next election is causing alarm not just with major parties.
Ill-conceived? If one believes in the FPTP system, as the Conservatives say they do, then Canadians have spoken. The LPC stated before they were elected that if they were elected 2015 would be the last election conducted under the FPTP system. Is Sun Media disputing the obvious FPTP truth of last October?
There are three major parties, the LPC and NDP both campaigned on electoral reform - what other major party has a problem with the idea other than the CPC?
If the Liberals push ahead with a preferential ballot, it would probably enshrine Liberal majority governments in perpetuity. (Rona Ambrose)
A statement full of if's and possibly's..... IOW, fear mongering to the Conservative base.
Trudeau has said that there will be an all party committee looking at electoral options, and that there will be wide ranging consultations with Canadians before any change is presented to Parliament. Maybe Ms. Ambrose, and Sun Media, should wait until we see what Canadians say during the consultation process, and what option is presented to Parliament, before trying to make Canadians afraid of what Canadians think.
