He appears to think that if the D and R choices are bad enough, a third party candidate could win the popular vote.

It is an incredibly optimistic notion.

As a person who believes the 2 party system needs to be stopped, I feel the factor of Hillary running won't help out that cause. The first step for third party candidates to winning is to remove the presidential debate commission.

This wouldn't actually do anything to fix the situation. Even if it caused the Libertarian Party to forever overtake either the Democrats or the Republicans we would have the same problem with the two new competing powers.

Our system of elections mathematically guarantees a 2 party system.
