My ankle recovered very well, but dislocating your knee however...

I dislocated my knee once, and since then it dislocates anytime I look at it wrong. I've had surgery to correct it, but it didn't work. I'm mostly afraid my ankle is going to be similar to my knee and dislocate a lot whenever I twist my ankle wrong or anything. I'm not exactly graceful so it terrifies me to think about.

Hmmm, I haven't had any problems with my ankle since then. But yeah, that knee. If I happen to load heavier weight on it and at a slightly off angle, it does feel like the joint slips out and slip back in again sometimes.

I broke my ankle November 23rd and had surgery in early December. I got my walking boot on the 22nd and it's been amazing. It won't cut you up like a cast and while it is heavy, your ankle will feel more protected. Don't be terrified, it means you'll be walking soon :)

Editing to add: normal-ish showers!!

Walking is definitely something I look forward to! I guess I'm just afraid of my ankle dislocating more than anything. My knees dislocate all the time, and I'm afraid of the same happening with my ankle now.

But dang, the walking boot sounds amazing! I think the worst part of the cast is feeling it cut up my incisions so that'll be nice to not have to feel constantly!

I've had that fear too, about it dislocating and breaking again. I got the clearance to walk around in the boot at work and without it at home on Monday. The key is just to take it easy honestly. I'm a little more confident about my ankle not being broken again because I have a plate on it now.
