Privacy / anonymity protections of bitcoin are exaggerated in my opinion. In some ways, it's more private than traditional payment methods, but less private in others. There's a lot you can do to increase your privacy, but most average users won't bother. I support strengthening privacy safeguards by default, but not everyone cares about privacy as much as I do.

That's nice and all but what would truly be a hit would be if they'd accept bitcoin for any purchase and pay the merchants however they want.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company said its platform “supports growth with a variety of value-added services designed to help businesses of all sizes manage their cash flow, invoice clients, pay bills, and reduce the need for merchants to receive and store sensitive customer financial information.”

Not exactly breaking news since we've known about PayPal taking an interest in bitcoin for quite some time. Still, it's great to see progress in action.
