I was shadowbanned on one of my new accountsas well. A mod in /r/conspiracy pointed it out. I'm not sure if it's because I posted surveillance footage of the Pentagon on 9/11 or if it's because I asked a Flat Earth theorist if he believed the moon is made of cheese.

FYI for anyone who wants to check their shadowban status. Right click your name and open it in an incognito window. If you see you and your comments you're good. If it says user not found, you've been shadow banned.
Better yet use grease monkey and a script and wipe your comments clean and move over here. Its only going to continue burning to the ground over there in favor or marketing and safe spaces.

i tried editing-then-deleting my comments early this morning but i noticed that they had already started saving the 'original version'. bastards

Please explain how you noticed that they are saving the original version.

i ran an auto edit-then-delete script. i had problems running it on 1+ pages at a time (via autopage loader plugins) so i did it in batches.
at first things went normal.
then, after a while, instead of seeing just the standard "i'm leaving reddit for voat.co because of the blatant favouritism etc" comment replace my previous, actual comments, additional text appeared beneath each deleted (replaced) comment. it said "Original text:" followed by (you guessed it) the original text. i could still delete this original text btw but it was a definite difference and implies that they are now keeping versions of all comments.

it's their new policy that came in on 1st jan. they own every version of every comment you've ever made. even if you delete them or your entire account. they can do with these comments as they please.

That's the way that bans to subreddits have operated for some time, It's an old trick that 'slows down people's outrage' as they are tricked into thinking their posts are still up. It's a 'service' given to the mods of websites. You can check to see if you have been 'shadow banned' ie across the whole of rediit via one of the reddit sites, r/shadowban I think.

https://shadowbancheck.appspot.com/ is better, you can type in your username and get an instant answer

Shadowbanned. This happened to me multiple times over there. I would go to check the thread from work, and my comments would not show. They also apparently auto-shadowban by ip addresses, so if you use a VPN it probably will require a conversation with a mod to unban your new account. And yes, if you in any way disagree with a subs general attitude or post contradictory information, they will ignore and ban you from their little safe space.
Makes it hard to join and contribute if you do not know the game of mod kiss-ass you have to play over there. I finally just quit contributing.

Does this happen in only one subreddit, or in all subreddits? If the latter, it's a shadowban by reddit admins. If the former, the subreddit mod set the automoderator to remove all your comments as soon as you make them. This happened to me in /r/dataisbeautiful. They neither notified me of this ban nor will they respond to modmail messages. As far as I know I did not break any rules.

Single subreddit "shadowban" is when the mods have automod delete your posts as soon as you make them. When admins shadowban it's always for the whole account.

I was shadowbanned yesterday—or was it fully banned? whatever—by a bot from a really big sub because of some "spam" I had posted (a notice stating my personal opinion of the new terms of service). I just laughed.
