It's problem with the mods of the sub, fuck them.

Screw that, feel free to submit anything you like over at /v/uncensored. Everyone is welcome and the users decide what goes up or down.

It's a last ditch effort to try to keep the sub relevant, as crap submissions could hit the front page simply by being submitted, the post rate went way down over there.

It absolutely does. And the reality is that crappy content will be downvoted. It's a core problem with reddit, the votes don't do the moderating anymore.

No. It's not actually censorship. That sub had terrible problems with content quality, and that fixed it. You can become an approved submitter if you message a mod with a quality submission.
Normally I don't agree with censorship, but when it comes to dank memes I think it's OK.

First time here from reddit. This place is so much better. I'm not quite ready to quit reddit cold-turkey....yet.
And yes, your comment is right on point. The entire reason I liked reddit was because the USERS decided what was important. Fuck the mods who think they know better and are literally destroying reddit.

What an awful subreddit. Surely blocking everyone but a select few goes against what reddit (used) to be about? If you're being spammed with bad (i.e. off-topic, constant reposting) posts, then use your moderation powers correctly and delete (or even flair) the post, informing the submitter what they did wrong. Don't block everybody but a select few from posting, because that'll just drive people away.

I wouldn't call it censorship because the rules are clearly laid out.
I think censorship, in the sense we're discussing, is when something is removed even though it adheres otherwise to all stated rules and regulations of the area it's being shared.
