I just wanted to say how awesome I think it is that there's a "KotakuInAction" type subverse on here for Reddit. I'm glad I defected.

No. It's not actually censorship. That sub had terrible problems with content quality, and that fixed it. You can become an approved submitter if you message a mod with a quality submission.

Normally I don't agree with censorship, but when it comes to dank memes I think it's OK.

Technically you're right. It isn't censorship, but it can be used to censor people.

The subreddit is still getting worse, quality as continued to go down as it has became more and more popular.

If there are problems with content quality, then the users should decide that by upvoting/downvoting.

First time here from reddit. This place is so much better. I'm not quite ready to quit reddit cold-turkey....yet.

And yes, your comment is right on point. The entire reason I liked reddit was because the USERS decided what was important. Fuck the mods who think they know better and are literally destroying reddit.

For smaller subs, that unfortunately doesn't always work. A submission with 1 point can still make the front page there, and there was a lot of spammy terrible content prior to the change.
