Love the first sentence. There is a similar thing in Sweden (apparently) where almost everyone has the same name in Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden.
Welcome to voat!

Nice to have you here! I'm new as well. Serious question: is the economic situation in Greece as bad as I see on news sites?

It's... difficult to say. It is worse than they say on the news, but it's not for the same reasons nor the same situation.
I won't starve for example, my family has more than enough money for me to feed off of without putting a dent in their savings... but i can't find a job, which has made me depressed. I am meeting up with a psychiatrist tomorrow. I've gone off the rails. Completely.
My grandfather In the 50s-60s, whose wife was an at-stay-home wife, and with hardly high-school completed (he couldn't spell "bread" correctly, in greek, his own language), had the only store in a village with a population measuring in the low hundreds. He managed to put two girls through school. Economic hardships, ok, but he did manage it. I have a master's degree in the most popular area... yet I can't find a job. Sure, i am not the best candidate, i might not even be good but for fuck's sake I know shit.

That's really rough man, and I absolutely wish you the best of luck. I hope your therapy helps as well.
Can't you borrow some from the family? If you manage to get a job lined up, I can't imagine that it'll be hard to convince them. Especially since you're already living off their goodwill right now.
You're paying a hefty opportunity cost if you're unemployed while scrambling to get enough cash in pocket. It may be worth borrowing a little more if it lands you a job right now.

I also enjoy discussions on the absurdity of existence and other philosophical issues... but those aren't as geeky. Although thinking about it, the term "geek" has lost its significance nowadays, hasn't it...?
