This is pretty lousy science reporting. It doesn't actually cite research as its sources. It just sites other internet articles. Also, any article that parrots the "only 5% of people lose weight and keep it off" statistic
should set off alarms. That is a myth based off of a 60 year old study, a study that the original author says has no relevance in modern weight loss discussions. More on that here
