Please pay attention to the part around 24:00 where he talks about FIB Milling. With that technology it would be possible to print chips at home in 10 years.
The problem with FIB is a parallel to the petroleum industry. Would consumer FIB financially benefit chip manufacturers / designers? It's sad to me that profit, not progress, is always the focus, and it's seemingly implausible for a company to exist long-term otherwise. Thoughts? Also, very cool vid.
