If Voat users make their entire existence some sort of anti-reddit phenomenon then Voat will never be anything more than an angst-ridden place that exists solely because reddit exists.
Reddit didn't exist as a place to go purely because people disliked Digg, it existed to be something else, something different.
I for one suggest Voat users stop focusing so much on Reddit and start focusing on making Voat great. Use Gaben's philosophy, ignore your competitors and focus on yourself and making what you've got good. If you make something good then people will use it.
Rather than attacking all the problems of reddit the users here should discuss theorhetical methods of socially eliminating the problems that are systemic. The problem is people, and it is the system that allows for many of the circlejerking problems to occur. There must be alternative ways to do things that will take advantage of user psychology to guide it to better things. We should not however kid ourselves, entirely different problems will occur out of doing things differently.
You're generalizing. One user does not represent entire Voat userbase and last time I checked, there were almost 30000 registered voat accounts. Just saying.

This is a community specifically designed to scheme against reddit and its friends. You made a thoughtful post but one that is better suited to a more general subverse or even as a self post elsewhere. I realise people come here from /v/all

I hadn't realised the subverse it was in as I browse using /all/. Good to know, thank you.
I shall refrain from adding reasonable discussion and level-headedness to the ironyjerk in future!
