Yeah I did kind of phrase with a slant towards them. But I was mainly just pondering the credibility aspect.

Personally I do believe there are some UFOs that continue to defy explanation. But that's only a small portion of those reported and frothed over by some of the less incredulous of those who discuss the topic on forum boards.

Sure. The problem with that is that defying explanations doesn't equal whatever interesting theory ufologists might have at hand at the moment. But I get your point.

That's an excellent point. Too many claim to be searching for the truth. Yet they'll* easily accept any wild theory that fits their preconceived notions.

  • obviously I'm generalizing, as not all UFO enthusiasts are nutters, but the fringe/conspiracy groups do attract some less logical individuals.

The credibility has been on the rocks since camera phones became common place. There's literally millions of people around the world now with cameras in their pockets. So unless the Aliens are targeting areas remote and away from humanity or advanced technology then it's just a waiting game until we capture something on proverbial film.

That's something that I've thought about to. With the rise of camera phones, now that everyone has a somewhat decent sort of camera or camcorder at all times. Them why has there not been a dramatic increase in multiple people recording mysterious or unexplainable occurences?
