I'm already almost always angry at anything at any acceptable age, so I'll stick with what I've got.

I don't know about you but if I'm as angry as imaginably possible I wouldn't be able to get anything done either. When I'm extremely pissed off my mind's racing 1,000 miles per hour, my heart's thumping.. Honestly I'd rather be neither but being sad may be more bearable.

Have you ever tried splitting firewood, or some other kind of manual labor when you're angry? It typically calms me down after awhile.

I will take sadness because at least I won't be taking it out on other people, I'll just be sad and sit there by myself.

Being sad also takes less energy. Holy fuck. Being angry burns me out.

Re: "Being angry burns me out."

It took me too long to realize that.

Sad. When you're sad you only hurt yourself. When you're angry you hurt yourself and others around you.

Angry, deffo. Energy, drive and motivation beats lethargy and self-destruction in my book. But everyones anger/sadness is different so ymmv.

I think this question boils down to angry if you are selfish and sad if you are selfless.
