Shoes off at the door. Socks stay on. Fuzzy slippers used if it's chilly. Except on the basement stairs. Steep basement stairs + fuzzy slippers = fractured coccyx.

If I get home and don't expect to leave the house again for the day, the shoes come off and the pajamas go on. Might as well be comfortable in your own home, after all.
