If I get home and don't expect to leave the house again for the day, the shoes come off and the pajamas go on. Might as well be comfortable in your own home, after all.

now, see, that logic doesn't necessarily pan out, because I live in florida, it's the dry season here, but there's so much sand, you're turning your house into a sandbox if you don't take off your shoes, well, sandles down here, but whatever, you get what I'm saying

my theory is, If I'm paying rent, I shouldn't have to wear pants. That was pretty much the only thing my dad and I agree(d) on

absolutely, it cost enough to steam clean the carpets. i don't need to do it more often. who knows what you might track in... dirt, mud, dog shit.....

Yes, but I don't make guests do it. I find it annoying when people make you take your shoes off to be in their house. Unless it's muddy out or your shoes are obviously muddy, it just seems conceited.

Shoes off at the door. Socks stay on. Fuzzy slippers used if it's chilly. Except on the basement stairs. Steep basement stairs + fuzzy slippers = fractured coccyx.

DAMMIT, CARL! I told you to stop spreading that rumor!
Now which bra did you fling this time?

Yes, always. My feet are clean, my floor is clean, outside is not clean; I don't want to knowingly bring in dirty and grim from outside. I even wipe my dog's feet.
