I consider Call of Duty to be more of a recurring sports title than anything else. People play it for the multiplayer, which changes the maps and guns every iteration without shaking up the formula too much. I wouldn't compare CoD to a story-based series that's run itself out of content.

Exactly. I expect from CoD the same kind of updates I expect from Forza or FIFA.

Call of Duty is also useful because it acts as a sort of cage or pen for certain types of players who might otherwise spill out in to other games. Better to quarantine them in their Mountain Dorito forts I think.

Yup, nothing wrong with that, either. Not all shooters have to be Counter Strike, so I appreciate having options that appeal to different tastes.
