I mean jesus. Build area is small. It's all hills so placing things with the already semi-shitty system is a nightmare. There's a house destroyed in half which is weird to build around. And there's a useless cave that could have been cool if it was a real cave and not just super small. Why Bethesda?! How hard could it have been to just give us a repaired house. I mean this place has such a pretty view but I've tried to build here but it's impossible!

My favorite is Kingsport Lighthouse where the view is pretty much the same so even that's not worth building at the Cottage...

Useless. What were they thinking? Does anybody use this settlement?

Unrelated: Why the fuck didn't they put any planks or walkways to build? I can't tell you how many times that would have come in handy. They need to do something like the Sims and have one patch update that just gives a shit-ton of settlement stuff.

Murkwater construction site is pretty shit also. It's a burned out house and a shed surrounded by swamp water. I think my favorite is the The island. Build area is huge yo! Plus it's a fucking island.

What platform are you playing on? There are a couple mods that add some walkways type items. If you're on a console you may have to just wait a little while for Bethesda to figure out when/how to kick the mods over to ya. Settlement Supplies Expanded & Homemaker help a lot.

Yeah, isn't Murkwater the one with the respawning Mirelurk Queen?! I tried building there but it was pretty awful. I mean Murkwater didn't even have a view. Just swampy trees.

I enjoy that island as well, but it's almost too much for me! Things like the Castle and Red Rocket are nice for me since I'm not super creative, I can just build around the established parts.

Also, you ever been to Croup Manor? That's an example of something too established for me. I can't build anything cool in that.

I have SSEX but I don't like it very much. I tried Homemaker but it kept crashing everytime I opened the settlement menu up so I just gave up.

I have this one mod called Spring Cleaning and I love it. It allows me to delete 90% of the garbage on the floor, ugly bushes, etc and I can use console commands to delete the other 10% stuff essentially.

Looks like a build up and over it instead of on it. hello floating unsupported structure.

Found it the other day exploring the coast.

I'd agree.

The only one that's technically worse is the airport because you can't grow any food.

I never liked Spectacle Island, Jamaica Plain isn't a favorite either.

You can actually do some nice things with Jamaica Plain though. That empty foundation opens up some potential.

Note that the settlement was built some time ago, before I learnt about this mod's ability to make you ignore terrain. With that, the destroyed building to the side could get a restored second floor.

Impressive. I guess I forgot the vertical possibilities. Without mods, food could be an issue though but that doesn't matter if you build just for yourself.

No way man, this one just blew up for me with no real attempt...and it has a dungeon pit. I also had a gun mounted to the second floor in the building above the pit and it just mowed down the unseen guys on the other side of that little clif.
