If I'm in a loving relationship with someone I truly love, and I'm in the right financial position, okay. One kid would be okay. Maybe two. I don't see the big deal. I'd be careful to lay down my expectations, but not be disappointed if they fuck up, and don't meet that. This is why parents flip out, and get disappointed. They expect their kids to be better than them. Just let that shit roll. It's not your fault if things don't go as planned.

I'm 31 and I want a child desperately with my wife, however, we just aren't financially stable enough to have a child and responsibly take care of them.

Are you and your wife the same age? Just stick to your guns a couple years, and you'll be in a good enough position to pop one out.

27 and neither am I, but I did it. My wife and I will have student loans for the next 10 years. I am not willing to wait that long. I've also heard you're never really ready, so we just dove in.

I'm ok with kids. I have one. Given the choice if I could go back and not plant seed? I would. I love my daughter but the relationship with her mother is tiring. Baby girl though is wonderful. Love being a dad.

When I'm more financially stable... and with someone on a permanent basis.

None for me thanks. 49F here and always knew it was an adults only area in my world, no regrets, no questions.

No questions? Just curious why you feel this way. No desire, or what?

I knew early on, around age 11 or 12, I wouldn't ever physically have a child this was clear and distinct in my mind - no pregnancy, ever. I thought maybe I would adopt but I think that was more from societies norms and expectations than any real desire on my part. Once I got to be an adult and realized how much effort it would take to adopt that went right out the window, if I couldn't see clear to go to a few meetings to get a kid then I had no real desire for one full time.

I want to have children but I think it would be better if my bloodline ended for medical reasons.

So I'll need a wife that's down to adopt.

I love children. I'd love to start a family someday. However, I would much rather adopt and foster than procreate.

Since I was young I have always dreamed of having a family; now that I'm starting one, I'm terrified of having one in this world.

Just had my first a few months back. It is so scary, but really not that bad once you figure the little thing out. Mine is at the giggling stage and it makes all those sleepless nights worth it.

That's awesome! I'm not scared of having children, just raising them in these interesting times. Of course I worry about being a good parent, though. I will definitely be better than my parents were.
