I've only ever heard 'event horizon' being used to describe the distance at which light is pulled into a black hole, this forming the black holes shape and size as far as the eye can see.
Does this 'event horizon: you speak of also affect the distance at which you can see stars and therefore would mean stars are a lot closer to earth than we are told?

The vanishing point on the horizon.. where all parallel lines intersect and anything beyond it's no longer visible.
