Unfortunately it probably wont. This is what happens when you let people on the same team judge themselves. It's like giving comcast the deciding vote in state sponsored monopolies.

asset seizure without criminal charges IS theft. imagine i did that to you, what would you consider it to be? it doesn't change if the police do it. if a cop hires a prostitute he is still committing a crime. if a cop kills someone he is committing a crime. if a cop rapes someone he is committing a crime, and if a cop takes someone's stuff than he is committing a crime. in the case of cops taking people's stuff with no criminal charge, the cop is committing armed robbery. cases like this should be tried as armed robbery, and cops who do it should be sent to prison for armed robbery. and they very much did bring a gun to that robbery, and it should be treated as such.

What is it about "nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ", that is hard to understand ?

It would be nice if the courts actually protected the rights plainly spelled out in the constitution instead of putting on the magical glasses that turns paper and ink into a living document, and finding shit there that no one else can see.

Due process of law means just that. All of the these foreclosures are under 'due process of law'. It's that process that sucks.

I actually like the police quite a bit, but a cop pulling you over and seeing your car is expensive or you have cash is not due process.

Only after politicians' relatives start being murdered by cops and politicians' property starts being stolen by cops will something be done about it.

Norman City Attorney Jeff Bryant said he advised city council member Stephen Tyler Holman against taking a management job at the Friendly Market. According to Bryant, his advice was based on his legal interpretation that the store sold merchandise classified as drug paraphernalia under state law. Holman has said he disclosed to the city attorney that he was taking the job as a matter of standard procedure. Holman and Friendly Market owner Robert Cox do not believe they are doing anything illegal and believe the justice system will vindicate them.

I believe this to be his intention all along in the hopes that he will be able to use this win in court (if he wins) to both bring attention to and strengthen his fight against asset seizures.
