The IRS code is impossible to know so this is unlimited power to revoke passports.

The US Code is impossible to know in its entirety. You are innocent until someone dislikes you, at which point they search your records for any crimes they can come up with. And guess what, the NSA has ALL your communications to dig through for criminal behavior, most of which you wouldn't even have known was criminal! Also, intent is no longer a defense. As long as someone in power dislikes you enough, you WILL go to jail for as long as they please, because we are ALL guilty of something. Welcome to the modern USA, where everyone is guilty of something, and the only recourse we have is to suck the cock of someone in power to hope for their favor.

It's like this in a lot of countries. I now pay people to do my taxes because otherwise I will mess up and in the end it will be more expensive.
"You forgot a still open bank account with 2€ in it from when you lived in France? Let the tax people make you a new arsehole with a flagpole. Oh! And it will be a 100€ penalty, 200€ if you don't pay before Friday at 11:55". Bastards...
Thousands (millions?) of jobs depend on the complexities of the tax code everywhere around the globe.

Now spanning the globe, thanks to the US' citizenship-based taxation!

Never underestimate the tax lobby.

You know, unless you are really quite wealthy, it's really easy to understand the scope of tax law that applies to you. If you're really nervous you can even pay a relatively low fee to have a CPA prepare your taxes and put his own ass on the line for you. All this comes down to is pay the taxes you owe, and you'll be fine.
Yes, I've dealt with the IRS before, and no, the letters they send when they think you are wrong aren't nice. And in my case when they found out THEY were wrong, they sure didn't apologize. Their customer service is a bag of moldy dicks. That doesn't mean they're irresponsible tyrants who abuse their power. If you pay your taxes your passport will be fine, just like your home, your paychecks, and all the other things they had access to before this law was passed will go unmolested by them as long as the taxes are paid for.

The founding fathers spilled blood over less. I'm just glad they're dead so they didn't have to see what a disgrace their country and government have become.

I picture the Gadsen flag with the US in the squeeze of the snake. I understand the snake is a rattle snake on said flag but that was the first image that came to my mind when I saw this article.
