While I don't think I would pronounce reddit dead just yet, strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.

Voat seems like a fresh and inviting place.

Welcome, friend.

So far the community is small and friendly...two things that often go hand in hand. The challenge will be for all of us to pitch in and make Voat better.

Oh, and the communities you miss? Start your own. That's the beauty of what Voat is today!

Reddit isn't dying but free wheeling types like me prefer a place where the mods are not so heavy handed and solid posts are not deleted because a mod doesn't agree with it.

I've tried posting on reddit lately, in TIL, ELI5 and askscience. 60% of my posts get auto-modded and it's stupid. Like, not even real people are seeing my comments, some bullshit algorithm is deleting my posts because they're anecdotal or whatever. I'm a student in University in Earth and Ocean sciences, I thought people with experience were supposed to chime in. /rant

Not much has changed on reddit overall. It is just some of the subreddits have not aged well. New ones come by. I am pretty sure it is totally natural to have waves of quality.

It reminds me of what happened to youtube after google bought it. Except its being orchestrated by progressive Nazi's.
