Heard an interview with one of the lead authors of the study. The inteviewer was asking aobut what was wrong with people wanting to see themselvs reflected in the advertising media. Basically, why should I not, as an average person, have to look at people who are clearly not of average build? The author, in full shitlord form responded with: if statistically you are average, then you are obese and we should be presenting positive messages not negative ones. Showing obese or morbidly obese people as role models is damaging to people who are trying to stay at a healthy weight. Glorious.
