I've been stepping away from Voat here and there, testing the same hypothesis. It does help to get away, but here I am again. I wonder if this is just addiction too. It's all trivial bullshit but we're just hooked on the facsimile of interaction, and they can't keep us fed on new culture fast enough and so they can only churn out utter shit at light speed. That's why it all sucks. We haven't had the creative revolution yet, so no good content gets made, and they just have to fill the feeds and hours of broadcasting over the billion stupid channels with rubbish. And some good stuff, but that's the shit that gets you hooked.
So maybe we're just all junkies. Maybe it's our beast getting fed.

Welcome to the real world. The more you care to know about how this world works the more issues come to vision. And no, these sites are not working together to keep us busy for corporate gain. These sites like voat and reddit don't even work that way- since everything is user-submitted content. (They are good time wasters though)
