I dont believe this site uses shadowbans but I do know that you can allow people banned from the rest of the site to still participate in your sub if you are the mod. I allow it in my sub due to the nature of the sub and why I created it.

I'm for getting rid of shadowbans altogether. If someone needs to be banned just ban them.

Yes, but make it public, give specific reasons, and allow for some codified means of appeal.

I agree. The Reddit shadowban system just seems...slimy. "We're going to ban you but we're not going to tell you you've been banned and not give you a reason. We're just going to let you keep going until you start wondering why no one is responding to you."
