If someone is put in jail by mistake, he gets compensation. Then, if he gives it to ISIS, he can be legitimately returned to jail.

RTFA. He did hate US back then too. He was a member of al qaeda, just not the high ranking member US thought he was.

Even if he was, there is no way that torturing him would have been in sync with the human rights agenda. Even if it were proven to be effective, it should not be allowed in any case.

Our freedom of speech and his freedom to not get tortured (or dignity if you wish) are written on the same piece of paper.
