This is exactly what I was thinking. No one is upset that pro football (American football) players have to spend 4 hours a day in the gym. No one is upset that the linebackers have to maintain unhealthy eating (overeating) and be gross looking to succeed. Because THATS THEIR FUCKING JOB! Don't want to be skinny? Well, that's the job...be skinny and pretty. So go be a catalog model.

These porkers aren't models ... they're carefully balanced spheres. Gross. No way I want to look at that.

I don't see how Rosie Nelson is fat.

But the Hoff disapointed me, I don't know if his wife could get in KITT.

Why not make it a law that modles are required to have a healthy bmi. Oh, but that would hurt the obeasts fee fees.

I can agree with not allowing model agencies to encourage models to diet below a certain bmi in the healthy range. I've had a couple of friends who modeled and the only way they could stay skinny enough to get work was cocaine. Now they have normal jobs and they have put on weight, but still slim and healthy so I can see it from that point of view. Compare the 90's supermodels with models today - it's ridiculous. A girl who's 6 foot tall and a UK size 10 should not be considered as a plus size! That's slim and healthy! HOWEVER, all this talk about not pressuring women to be skinny means that fatties jump on the bandwagon. Unfortunately we do want to see slim models, but how do you separate out not encouraging normal slim girls to starve from letting the hambeasts run riot?

In developed world obesity kills orders of magnitude more people than starvation does.

So let's make law that makes it illegal to display thin people, because being think requires trace of self-control and I have none.

Fuuuuuuuuuuckkk.

I should have been born in the future, when humanity finally gets over feelings and makes decisions based on facts and logic.

Nah, future is going to be a sea of anti science, anti logic adipose laden politically enabled matriarchy.

I think you got that backwards. You should have been born in the past when people minded their own business, took care of themselves, and were not afraid of being honest in the face of hurt feelings. It's only getting worse my friend.

If your a model, and your happy with your weight, maybe you should tell your agent that he/she works for you, not the other way around. If that doesnt work find another agent. I imagine that is significantly difficult, but you are agreeing to put yourself at risk if you agree to lose more weight. This is a social issue, no government law will change the desires of fashion, they couldnt even stop sweat shops...

This is sooooooo not the government's place to intervene.
