Why the fuck do you need $2,700 to take photos of 100 women in their underwear? I did that from ages 18-20 and it didn't cost me anything. What the hell is the $2,700 for? Is she paying these models $27 a piece?

Camera rental, lighting rental, studio rental, makeup, Photoshop, costumes. And yes, probably snacks.

I kinda hoped that an artist already owned a camera and a copy of Photoshop. Also, they're in their underwear, costumes?

I want to do one of these crowd funding "what real women look like" things, rake in tons of ham dollars, then use it to make a doc on how the fat acceptance movement is a plague on society leading young girls to miserable lives and premature deaths.

I mean, what are they going to do about it.

I had the same idea. Get a bunch or healthy bmi woman and show real healthy and normal women.

That would actually be neat. I see so few healthy weight women that it is sometimes hard to notice slightly overweight ones. It would be nice to have more examples of what normal looks like.

I was so heartened to find that an overwhelming majority of the comments on this article reflected disgust and disapproval at the choice of 3 of the 4 "real women" being obese and clearly unhealthy (unlike the crapturd fat acceptance you would see on the average Buzzfeed body positive article).

I encourage all shitlords to contribute to the conversation here and for shitladies to express that we don't need to be told to "eat a burger" and are most definitely real women. Why is body shaming only applicable for the fats, especially when they SHOULD be ashamed of them?

You answered your own question.

Thin people tend to not give a fuck when they get "shamed". Shame can only come from within. The real problem is that they hate themselves - they just try to blame it on everyone else.

While I understand your sentiment, I have read many stories on the old FPH of naturally thin girls being bodyshamed by men and women alike. This story is a prime example of how skinny (or even normal BMI) girls can be made to feel like they are less of a woman/a bag of bones/undesirable/unfeminine etc. The same applies for athletic and muscular women who are told they are "manly" or "gross". When I first lost weight, even my parents told me I was "too skinny" though my BMI was still within the normal range.
