Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
That's what it says. That's the first amendment, in a nutshell. It doesn't say that other cannot protest your speech, in fact, it protects their speech as well.

Do you mean to say the only type of freedom of speech is the one enforced by the first amendment? There are a lot of ways to restrict and censor ideas that fall outside of the scope of that? Or would you say those are just incidental? Not trying to put words in your mouth here, just assess the situation. Because surely you realize that there are tons of ways to restrict speech that don't involve the government,,,,

Surely there are, but if its coming from other civilians, their speech is protected as well, correct?
