Seems like you aren't allowed to like anything anymore without pissing someone off. It's just fucking video games.

The major difference to watch out for, that they use to defend themselves, is they lean very very hard on trying to make you self-censor. That way they can say (as with DoA, SFV's animations, and Skullgirls) that it was the company's/creator's own decision.
Also makes it seem like their efforts aren't organised, and makes those not involved with x particular industry think it's just paranoia
Hell, even indie devs can't escape being broiled for years-past "crimes" against the cliques
(also I feel it's highly relevant that she was ignored, and then ostracised, while her games are all the things they normally go gaga for. VNs, all-female RPGs, romances, political bents, and non/anti-violent stories. My hypothesis is they ignore games like that on purpose unless it came from within the clique specifically because the existence of such games demolishes their narrative. She was only "noticed" in 2013 as they finally began reviewing Long Live The Queen, while scrutinising her every move across social media)

Just being into one 80's techno band is a little weird in my opinion.
[–] Doomking_Grimlock 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Weird enough to merit execution or life imprisonment?
[–] ObscureReference 0 points 7 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago
80's techno is not a crime!

I miss the days when we judged a game based on how good it was and nothing else.
[–] djsumdog 0 points 9 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago
Or just judging all of it. "I like the story, but the game play sucks." or "I like the game play, but the story doesn't matter." If someone says, "DOA isn't that great of a fighting game, but at leas the girls are hot," then what's wrong with that? What's wrong with having a sexual character? Nothing! It's only anti-sex, conservative feminist that even give a crap. Talk to girls who do slut-walks or pro-sex feminists and it doesn't matter to them. Not one bit.

Eh, I wouldn't say all that. Wu's buddy Maddy finds tons of 'problematic' things all the time and she's been out there before.
And there's also ones like Leigh who were formerly that 'kind of feminist' but then claim "I learned to respect myself"
Anti-sex feminism is just Marxist Catholicism, guilt-tripping, indulgences and all. It's just as much an organised religion.
We need to get the positive ones to be able to ignore shaming. That's where a lot of the conflict derides from.
This woman from earlier on in GG, Claire Schumann for instance. She tried to break away from the cult and got annihilated.
This right here is how the conservative feminists maintain their numbers. Unfortunately, the positive ones don't want to fight anybody but "the man" just as their parents did in the 60s They're wholly unprepared for this kind of treatment from their 'own side.' They might even believe they'd get support. So they fold and fall back into the cliques when they try to search for a middle ground.
For those that do successfully break away, there's a term called Unpersoning that describes what happens next pretty well. They start saying the person isn't real, that it's a sockpuppet (even after other major figures may vouch for them), that they've "internalised" misogyny and self-hatred. Anything to make it look like they "never truly believed in the cause in the first place"

They should release a new DOA game. Call it "DEAD OR ALIVE BIKINI EDITION." It'll just be scantily clad females fighting. Suck on it, safe spacers!
