The key is limits. Assign every task a time limit. Whether it is done or not, especially for your online browsing presence.
You like Voat - Allocate whatever time you want, but don't spend more than that. I give between 5-20mins to each of my online sites. Once you are done with the time move on to your next task.
Always have a list of things to do. When you think of something immediately write it down. If you are old school and like to maintain a book, write everything in the book. If you prefer digital media, make a note on your phone - Allocate when you want to complete it and how much time you want to spend on it. The good thing about digital note taking is you can add reminders to it.
The best thing to have is a routine. That way it becomes easier to assign time to tasks because you know exactly what you will be doing around a particular time.
This guy is the man to look to. Some of his presentations are on Youtube. Another good step would be book Eat That Frog!. It's a very short, to the point read, and worth it.
