I think this is clickbait article. It isnt that it's impossible to remove, its just probably quite hard to patch
The bug appears to arrive on Android smartphones and tablets via third-party app stores, rather than Google Play, which Lookout says has not been hit at this time.
so affected people will be mostly in china, where play services isnt there. China is already infected with worse stuff anyhow.
Because the malicious code essentially roots an Android device, digging deep into its systems, erasing it is virtually impossible.
if say, I got it on my phone, I will download a system image, wipe my phone, and flash the original image again, issue solved
all in all, shitty article. if you want to get this virus, you will have to try extremely hard. if you are just dl'ing stuff from play store, you aint got nothing to worry about
