Pros: multi player is competitive and very well balanced. No more loadouts and variable armour abilities. The movement system is fresh, and a little different for a halo game but it still feels like halo. It's the best multiplayer shooter on XB1 right now.
Cons: campaign is kinda cramped, no really expansive outdoor arenas like halo CE or halo 3 had. Kinda limited multiplayer map variety. No oddball or multiteam, no forge yet, theater mode makes you use the XB1 recording system to save videos (no 343 video server or sharing).
I'd wait for the Xbox 1 and halo 5 to get cheaper honestly.

As far as living room gaming is concerned, I would wait a couple of months to see how this Steam Machine thing works out. Or if you really want Halo 5, go for it.
