Pressure on the Chinese means their slow-growing middle class will grind to a halt, and will go in the other direction. These economic problems will lead to civil unrest, and possibly instability in the government itself. Its hard to keep a lid on 1.5 billion people, and it'll only get harder once their cash cow, the US, decides to pursue other options in the Far East, through the TPP.

The fact of the matter is, when it comes to being a nation of our size, its either us or them. Its fucked up, but its the truth.

It will promote international commercial competition. That effect is huge and leads to large economic benefits and great opportunities for customers of pretty much every firm. Think GATT or the effect EU had on average European shopper.
