I could talk about politics and police shootings and the ethics of releasing a game about being a cop and shooting people for fun is out-of-order, because it is
That website is on my no-visit list now. No thanks. I don't need more shitty "journalists" injecting their politics into their coverage. Got enough of those already.

Man, I dunno what that guy is talking about with the skateboarding game hate. I remember playing 2 and Underground and having a fucking blast. Can't speak for 5, though.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 = This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIXkRXYbKaI
Holy shit, that is pretty bad. Talk about devolution of a series, eh?
[–] spike11117 ago
I never got to play Underground since the only copy I found was to scratched up to play but THPS 2 is the best one of the best in the series. I heard 5 was just a big glitchey mess( Arkham Knight probably ran better on PC than THPS 5 did on console)

Any article summarizing a game either as a review or a compilation that relies so heavily on the word "flaw" is a disaster. Everything has flaws. Subjective flaws, objective flaws,; there are always flaws. Pointing out that there are flaws is not a helpful, informative, or particularly intelligent.
"I really liked this game but I couldn't get past its flaws..."
There's a solution to that kind of situation. It goes like this:
"I really liked this game" STOP.
"...but I..." NO.
You really liked the game. Fantastic. There's no need to fixate on the parts you didn't like because there's no such thing as the perfect game. Look at all the games that were almost universally loved until the negative kids were the only ones left talking about it in numbers and all they did was bitch bitch bitch. cough Skyrim cough.
It's like sitting two tables away from four catty bitches at the food court that just go on and on about everyone they know and what's wrong with them. They'll even take things that would normally garner compliments and find a way to make them wrong. "Oh my god I totally ran into Cindy the other day! Ever since she got pregnant her tits just keep getting bigger and bigger and she's so smug about it. Like, not in the way she talks or looks at you but you totally know she's thinking that her tits are huge now and she's so much better than everyone. That bitch!"
It's fine to be critical of games and it's fine to express a negative opinion of a group of games, but for the love of Pete, forget the word "flaw". If you're temped to say, for example, that a game has flawed mechanics, take a step back and think about what makes them flawed. Are they dated? Clunky? Convoluted? Unintuitive? Overly random? Overly complex? What? What specifically is wrong with the mechanics? And once that question is answered, you replace "flawed" with the answer. Now we're doing Games Journalism 201, which is the room just a bit farther down the hall from Games Journalism 101 where you can pass by and listen too them smugly pontificate on the "flaws" in the latest AAA release and observe over time that ever since Bob took a desk job and signed up for GJ101, his tits keep getting bigger and bigger.

Fair enough, I´ll hand that over to the author then. At least it´s not a death threat (a dude wanted to beat me up in real because of my "Mother Russia Bleeds" article).

Isn´t there like a Spyro collection? Or is that something that I have just dreamed about?

very good list, though I think Rainbow Six Siege will join the list soon and maybe Fallout 4 for not living up to the hype it could still be a good game but if it's not amazing it'll be consider a fail.
Every game on this list had the potential to be a truly great game but because no real change, being way to short and over price, or just copying and pasting a new they all failed and flopped.
The list should have Arkham Knight on it.

Imo, hype can kill pretty much any game there is. That´s also why I have tried to stay away from the Fallout 4 hype train. That is true though, but maybe he hasn't played Arkham Knight? I tried to do that just recently, but the game killed my PC :S

I had it on console and I had some problems but not PC problem. That game should have never been release on PC the way it came out. One of my biggest problems with the game was the story. Didn't like that they made Tim Drake and Barbra Gordon a couple(supposed to be with Dick Grayson) and I could see every major event happening a mile away. plus the ending was just bad.

Every single game that comes out is just another slight variation of exactly the same games. Some variant of multi player shooter.
Different scenes, different weapons but exactly the same gameplay.
I really miss the cool games like Star Wars - X-Wing - Gameplay : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWghOA692w0

Star Wars - X-Wing is such a good game :3 I got tons of memories from that one.
[–] ChillyHellion ago
Haha, I read your comment and then almost immediately saw these pop up in /new. Were you already thinking of Star Wars -- X-Wing, or did writing out your comment inspire you to post?
[–] 3081210? 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
I just discovered them.
Back in those days I did not have a powerful enough computer.? I literally had to play it in the company after hours.
But Star Wars X-Wing Alliance (2014) would be fun to play again.
But there were others like those form Star Trek.
