I've never been fat but when I was super skinny I ate like shit (usually only one meal a day though) and I would crave cokes, biscuits, mcbeetus etc. Now I crave protein shakes and chicken and rice in the same way.

We had a Halloween thingy at my work place. Hams and their hamlettes were running around passing up candy. I of course didn't want any, and I was getting looks like I had aids or some shit. It's seriously such a foreign thing to just say "no" to candy?

True shit. Strawberries, apples, and grapes are my "treats." Pineapples, too.

Actually, most fruits.

Also, I don't drink much soda, so I try some every so often. Every time I do, I remember why I don't drink much soda. Super sweet and makes you feel horrible. There are always better alternatives.

I use that 90 cal greek yogurt instead of sour cream in my borsht and in tacos. It's wayyyyy less cal and tastes so nice and tart.

However I am not going to substitute Some things, just eat less of them. I made bacon last night and crumbled it only my spinach and tomato salad with home made dressing. I think I used less than 2 tbsp of oil in the whole dressing on a 4 serving salad. I made chicken but it was disappointing so I only had a few bites. I have yet to do a good chicken thigh.

Taste buds become acclimatised and natural sugars can't compete with the refined stuff. It's why fats think fruit and veg tastes terrible; it does to them. It only takes a week or two, however, of avoiding refined sugar and taste buds can be reset. No fat ever has had a week of self control, though.

I made a low-carb coconut meringue the other day with almonds instead of flour and Splenda instead of sugar. It was real good. Will probably use coconut oil instead of butter next time, though.

It's literally Simply Sarah's Impossible Coconut Pie with chopped almonds instead of flour, splenda instead of sugar, and egg whites instead of eggs. I use my Blendtec which aerates it really really beautifully. It was a challenge I put myself up to for fun in response to Beefneck McGillicutty.

I agree with everything you said.

Except sweet potatoes. Those things taste like sweetened chalk. Sometimes I wonder if people that eat them actually have taste buds.

Then again, I have a hard time eating things that sweet. I'd rather just eat a fruit. Delicious and sweet, readily available. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
