I also appeared in a list of terrible people for posting that different sports require different body masses . As a Greek i suspect that i will rot in Hades for that.

LOL

Reddit ban for post inciting racial violence? Create an alt and post more violence.

Fuck Reddit and policies. If you want freedom of speech, you must also allow offensive speech. Fuck Reddit right in the pussy. (Or ass if you're so inclined.)

Nothing personal against myself, but banning FPH for being a "harassment subreddit" while keeping SRS was enough hypocrisy to kill it for me.

It really has become an empty shell of its former self. The funny cat pictures are fine but any subject that could be considered "hurtful" to SJWs are heavily censored and makes for an awful echo chamber.

At least here on Voat I see a good variety.

My first account was shadow banned because I was trying to counter the downvote brigading of my comments (or, sometimes, other people's unpopular opinions) with vote rigging. I was just fed up and didn't care what happened to my account anymore. The brigading usually happened in the automotive subreddits, where facts that show that American cars are anything less than the epitome of automotive engineering are not at all welcome. This would also happen in /r/energy, where any positive statements about green energy were not welcome. My second account was banned from /r/feminism, but I don't remember exactly what for. I had never posted to /r/feminism, I had only made a fairly benign remark about feminism in an unrelated subreddit. I've also had plenty of my comments deleted for whatever ridiculous reason.

Edit: I can't find my favorite example of the downvoting in the automotive subreddits (too old to show up in my history), but here's one. I got a little snippy, which is why I like the other example better. I didn't actually get snippy with the other comment, I was just reasonable and polite.

Not site-wide, so far as I know, but from TIL and bestof for using a ... slang term for transexual. Eh, admittedly not my finest moment but I guess I had it coming ;)

I made a post on tumblrinaction, and I wasn't even really making fun of anyone. I was joking about women who grow their armpit hair out, on a post that was a screencap of someone talking about how males and "beard culture" are a way to "separate the genders and keep them divided" or some nonsense like that.

It was truly hilarious that the person in the screen didn't see the irony in the statement so I decided to poke a little fun.

Boom! Autobanned from r/offmychest.

I'm not a fan of fatpeoplehate, coontown, or the like, not even a racist or anything. I just fucking hate censorship and Reddit is becoming a corporate sponsored shit hole for it.

I think it's getting worse, too. I didn't notice it at first, but now every subreddit I go to, there's usually SOME issue with someone being unfairly banned, or posts getting deleted. While some really racist shit gets upvoted on this site, there's still far more discussion than what is given on Reddit.

A good example is the frontpage. I swear to god, it is becoming a caricature of r/hailcorporate 's worst nightmare. Newcomers don't notice this, but after enough time on the site you develop a sixth sense for guerilla marketers. It's to the point where I no longer think people are "paranoid" for believing that some users of the site are just paid shills for some backward agenda.

I love the internet, but some of the stuff with Reddit in particular is completely ass backwards. It wouldn't be so bad if they're usually loud and proud about "internet freedom" and all of that, but can't seem to see their own hypocrisy.

Free speech doesn't mean "everything that i like," it's pure, unadulterated speech. If you can't handle it like an adult, it's not OTHER PEOPLE that are the problem. It's you...

Edit: Also, what the the fuck is up with people and their sensitivity toward the use of the word "retard" ?

I'll NEVER understand this! These are the same people that want to refer to someone as "disabled" instead, as though it's a valid replacement and is any less of a negative trait/name for someone. I had someone very recently on Reddit come after me for this, and threatened to ban me from a subreddit for using the word when my post actually had substance and was contributing to the discussion. My use of the word "retard" was very well something that anyone with a solid reading comprehension would have understood and ignored. That is, if they were actually mature and could handle language they didn't approve of.

I just don't understand the knee jerk reactions to a single word. It's just a stupid word!
