But being obese doesn't affect anyone else, and everyone 60+ years ago was much curvier and healthier, so obviously those planes won't fly because of systemic, conspiratorial body shaming all the way from the bottom echelons up to the very manufacturing of aviation technology.

And everyone knows that planes from 50 years ago were just better. These newer jets are just too cheaply made to accommodate actual people.

I fly recreationally. During flight school k was taught to assume everyone weighs 200lbs unless I know how hunch they weight. In a small fucking airplane 100-200lbs matters. Especially on a hot day at a higher altitude airport. You fucking die if the center of gravity is wrong. You fucking die if the plane won't climb. And you won't know it won't climb until you're out of ground effect.

As I seriously value my life, I would have been the first to volunteer to stay behind. I refuse to go down in a jet full of fatties. I'd have been so stressed out that any little bit of turbulence would have me shrieking in terror. I am not a nervous flyer at all under normal circumstances.

On the other hand, if you crash into the ocean, don't the fat fucks make useful floation devices?

Reading these tales of airline horror make me glad that I'm more of a "staycationer" than a vacationer.

Alternatively you could fly to somewhere international. People on international flights tend to be much slimmer (mass tourism places like Cancun being the exception). I've done the SCL-ATL flight five times over the past two years and recall seeing ONE noticeably overweight person in all those flights. No super obeasts in sight.

Watch them all wobble off the plane. Then we'll have the plane incident when it wasn't even in motion (front going down)

"10 people will have to get off ... or 3 hamplanets." The inconsideration is unbelievable. To laugh and giggle while 2 jet turbines can't haul your arse is disgusting. We should just ban the overweight from flying. Walk; they can use the exercise.

Thin privilege is being able to be physically lifted off the ground by 2-4 GE 110,000 HP engines.
To put that in perspective, a normal airline might have as much horsepower as 733 Lamborghini Aventadors all together.
gj fats.

I've encountered this before too, these fat fucks are the same ones trying to pass suit cases off as carry ons because teehee and shit. Fat fucks are the worst airline passengers.
[–] ForgotMyName 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
This garbage infuriates me. I regularly see them walk on with a suitcase and then a gigantic purse/duffle bag that will never fit under a seat as their "personal item." Some carriers will allow people with no carry-on to board first. I've seen people with those freaking gigantic bags walk over there and every time I see those douchebags put their stuff in the overhead bins. I've been tempted to pull that crap out and throw it in their lap - you forgot your personal item!
[–] ButtarGollum ago
Not as often as I've seen fatties do it. Most humans have normal sized carry ons.
[–] hypercat 0 points 8 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago
Fuck those people so fucking hard. If you are group 3 or 4 there is a high chance you will not get to bring you carry on because fucking pricks have brought not one, but sometimes TWO full sized suitcases and stashed them overhead. So they make you check your carry on. Oh ho ho that pisses me off to no end, however you can get around it if you carry a soft (non rolly or hard boxed bag) if it is a soft bag they will let you take it with you and remove someones hard bag as they can't force you to check breakables etc in a soft bag/duffle.

This is why Samoan Air's plan to charge by weight is genius. Every airline should adopt it.
[–] fatpeoplearegross 0 points 10 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago
Samoa has like 2 planes though
[–] WaffleRampage 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Gotta start somewhere. I have high hopes for the Asian airlines. Their seats already don't fit if you have more than like a 34 in waist.

I'm so fucking appauled by this I'm triggered to share this on my fb page.
