Okay, let's say it is.
Let's say there really are no negative consequences to our climate from increased carbon emissions. Answer me a few questions:
Who stands to gain from lying about it? Is this all a giant conspiracy between alternative energy companies to get more people to buy solar? A plan for government control through tighter corporate regulation? Who is profiting from encouraging Americans to decrease their amount of carbon emissions?
If it is a hoax, why have there been confirmed reports of companies covering up evidence about it? Surely if it didn't exist it would be easy for these multi-billion dollar companies to disprove, considering they have a heavy vested interest in convincing people that it's all bullshit. But yet, here we stand with no credible reports saying it's fake and several high-level studies that say it probably isn't. Is every scientific study compromised by the liberal media? Why aren't companies who supposedly contribute the most doing more to prove it's wrong?
What's actually wrong with a reduction in our dependence on foreign and limited fuels? You do realize oil and coal are limited resources? Why would you discourage people from trying to find ways to reduce our reliance on that?
I'll probably have more questions if you bother to reply but I'll leave you with that for now.
politicians looking to grab more power and more money from the people. Scientists living off government grants as their livelihood who will tow the line to keep their gravy train safe. Carbon traders ( like Al Gore 0 who need government to place the regulations in place so that their market has viability and legitimacy that is lacks in the face of the free market

there haven;t been .. this last revelation by Exxon has been mistepreted by the AGW wingnuts
It will show that these allegations are based on deliberately cherry-picked statements attributed to various ExxonMobil employees to wrongly suggest definitive conclusions were reached decades ago by company researchers. These statements were taken completely out of context and ignored other readily available statements demonstrating that our researchers recognized the developing nature of climate science at the time which, in fact, mirrored global understanding.
What these documents actually demonstrate is a robust culture of scientific discourse on the causes and risks of climate change that took place at ExxonMobil in the 1970s and ’80s and continues today. They point to corporate efforts to fill the substantial gaps in knowledge that existed during the earliest years of climate change research.
They also help explain why ExxonMobil would work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and leading universities like MIT and Stanford on ways to expand climate science knowledge.
What's actually wrong with a reduction in our dependence on foreign and limited fuels?
Its compulsory and thus immoral. If you want to reduce your carbon footprint ... by all means .. go for it
Just don;t force me to as well and we will get along fine
