You weren't betrayed, you are the product. You were sold.
Every person that uses Facebook volunteered to put data about themselves online. You bitch about the NSA watching you, all while hooking your cellphone up to facebook to track you. All those Facebook/Like buttons on websites? That's tracking. If you have used your Facebook account on a device and visit a site with the "Like" button, they know about it, whether you click it or not. Are you surprised that facebook implemented Facial Recognition to "help" tag friends in photos? They want to know who you are with and where.
There was no betrayal. you did this to yourselves. If you don't like it, stop participating.
