"Betrayed" you? It was never your friend to begin with.

I agree, I deleted mine in May '14 and haven't regretted it one bit. It's disturbing how many friends I haven't heard from though...they've accepted the new social norm, that you only communicate with friends through Facebook. Which is a fucking terrifying concept to me.

I never had a facebook account, Who the fuck is still dumb enough to maintain one. People should be deleting their accounts en masse.

Even though you delete your account, Facebook still has your data and is likely still keeping tabs on you. I wouldn't be surprised if they're using algorithms that logs your IP address from what device you've used, and know who you are via daily web searches from cookies in your web cache bought and sold from various ad companies If you've been "tagged" before, and a picture was uploaded with your face visible, they easily know where you've been from the IP address or GPS location of the person who uploaded the picture. Big Brother is watching.
I'll not discuss opsec in full on a forum but yeah pretty much. It takes a lot of work to knock out those issues you brought up. Since I've fully committed to not being spied on any more my least favorite thing is when people bring a camera to an event. I feel like I'm a tin foil hat since I put my foot down but as ridiculous as I am it's just as ridiculous to have your name in a database with who you associate with and where you were at what time without any opportunity to give or not give consent.

Lol "betrayed", what a load of shit.
Facebook has never been and will never be for you. It is a government-funded data mine. Period.
